Venue change for 2nd Semi Final

Due to heavy rain over the past few weeks and with a wet forecast for this week Saturday’s 2nd Semi Finals have been moved from Stanhope Recreation Reserve to Mooroopna.

The Stanhope Recreation Reserve has not recovered well from the wet winter and the League Executive in consultation with the club has decided to move the game in the best interests of participants and spectators.

KDFNL President Wayne Ryan acknowledged Stanhope’s support in the difficult decision to move the game.

“We have been in constant discussions with Stanhope over the past few weeks and after thorough inspections over the past week and looking at the forecast we felt that the ground was not going to be in suitable condition for Saturday” he said.

“I commend Stanhope for their co-operation and collaboration in working with the Executive to make a decision which is a difficult but necessary one.”

“Once the decision was made we consulted with other KDFNL clubs as potential hosts and due to varying club circumstances, this year’s host venues and the conditions of other grounds we have made the decision to move the game to Mooroopna.”

“The Executive have carefully considered the needs of the day, the interests of all six competing teams as well as the overall condition to provide a playing surface worthy of our top two teams competing in all grades for a place in the Grand Final.”

“I would also like to thank Mooroopna for their support in moving quickly to allow us to use their ground and in many ways this will be a great prelude to our Grand Final to be held at Mooroopna on 17 September.”
